Have a great weekend filled with lots of sewing!

  1. I was just shopping for some “fresh ” workout clothes . After seeing the prices on some of the nicer ones, I decided to make some. M7261 would be the perfect pattern for my Fall gear !

  2. M7261 so I can sew a running jacket with some dope fabric! ⚡️⚡️

And gee you guys are fast I was just getting started on the Ralph Rucci jacket from last year

  3. It took me one second to fall in love with Tracy Reese blouse M7251! The pleats and shirt bottom pocket details would be perfect to showcase some vintage folk embroidery. And I adore that you include up to size 22! Happy Pretty Fall!!!!

  4. 7259! How elegant!!!

  5. Love the Laura Ashley7242, it’s so hard to find such a versatile dress pattern. Love it, maybe a rayon challis?

  6. I’m loving M7251–it’s at the top of my fall sewing list!

  7. So happy to see a Laura Ashley pattern. M7242 has an updated 70’s look and will look great in one of my stashed challis!

  8. Hard to choose just one (and I won’t at the store stop at one) but I’m feeling like making 7249 first. Great collection! Also loving the coloring book! Thanks!

  9. As soon as I saw the new patterns, I fell in love with M7247! I’m looking for cute tops to transition into cooler weather with & this one looks perfect.

    I’ve also got my eye on M7265 & M7252. 😉

  10. M7254 looks like a great fall piece . I live in a warm/ hot climate this jacket would work in a lightweight fabric !

  11. I really love 7452.

    1. I meant 7254

  12. The new Laura Ashley 7242 is at the top of my fall sewing list! Already have fabric picked out.

  13. Dress pattern M7240 appeals to me with its asymmetrical neckline and simple lines. It would be the perfect travel dress!

  14. I love 7262 for its versatility and 3 very different looks!

  15. I love 7259 and have enough red wool to make it..

  16. 7243 for me! Great to hear about the new plans.

  17. I love 7259. I’ve been waiting for more 20s style patterns to come out.

  18. I like the look of 7246, would be great layered with a chuncky knit cardigan!!

  19. FIESTA 7256 🙂

  20. I love 7263… The flowy cardigan. Looks so Snuggly!!

  21. I am in love with 7259 for the cool days of fall.

  22. Oooh- 7342 is gorgeous!!

  23. Boy its really tough to choose my fav. M7244 would be a great addition for fall.

  24. 7254 is the cardigan pattern I’ve long been searching for. Thanks for offering a giveaway!

  25. Absolutely love the Laura Ashley and it channels some of my memories from High School but I really need some everyday dresses(having a large knit stash does not hurt either) so I would pick 7240. I could add jackets or sweaters or shawls to transition into the dreaded winter!

  26. I love 7256, and can see all sorts of variations I’d like to try. The short version with the ruffle on the sleeves is very on-trend from the fall runway shows – I’d make it up in a burgundy or deep blue velvet!

  27. I would love Laura Ashley m7242! It would be so pretty for fall!!!

  28. I love M7256. It is fun & fabulous, and I have several pieces of wool that have been stashed for years, just waiting for the perfect project.

  29. im in love with most of the patterns released but m7242 speaks to me!!! There is nothing like a long flowy dress that can be casual or super dressy!

  30. There are several patterns that i think are fabulous but i really do love M7242 such a pretty fall maxi dress!

  31. I love the fall patterns, so many to choose from. I have a huge tunic addiction right now so I really love M7251. I have a couple cotton voiles that would be perfect for it.

  32. I love M7242, the perfect Autumn maxi dress. I have my fingers crossed that it will be available in the UK!

  33. Would love M7260. I need to make an outfit for fall traveling and like the variety of pieces that can be made with this pattern. The jacket will be perfect for cooler fall nights.

  34. Easy-peasy. M7254 looks like a great cross between a cardigan and a knit blazer. And I like the option for the simpler shrug.

  35. Love 7254! It looks like a useful and versitile pattern. so easy to go from everyday to evening just by changing the fabric

  36. M7246 looks amazing and I was looking for a similar wrap dress. If I win it would could two wins for me 🙂

  37. Well, I know the next time I stop by Joann’s I’ll probably scoop up a good half of these patterns, but the one that really caught my eye is 7251. I almost skipped by it because the busy prints obscured the very nice design lines.

  38. Love 7248. Have been looking for a nice comfortable blouse pattern that looks good without taking forever to make. 7248 Looks like it would fit the bill.

  39. M7251.-It suits my body shape perfectly!

  40. The cardigan, 7262, looks like what I have been looking for.

  41. I love pattern m7265. I am a fiber arts teacher for a homeschool class. This is the perfect bag to carry my supplies in. The draw string top will hold projects in securely while the pockets will hold the little things that help put the projects together!

  42. I would love to win M7242.. It is such a basic pattern that would really let a great fabric take center stage.

  43. I would like to win M7250. It reminds me of some of the blouses worn by Cora on Downtown Abbey. I have been looking for a pattern like this everywhere, and now I can buy one new. 🙂

  44. I choose M7239. I sew for many clients which leaves very little time to make cute things for my niece, who recently asked me to make her something to wear to school. I’d like to surprise her with a cute hoodie jacket embellished with one of her favorite Disney princesses on the front. She’s a girly girl with a little edge, so leather will be part of her look as well.

  45. Hello! Thank you for offering a giveaway! If love to win M7185 in E5. I have a wrap dress obsession.

  46. Since I’ve been a Laura Ashley girl like forever, I’ll go with M7242. Who doesn’t need a long sweeping dress in the fall or winter?

  47. 7262 looks like the perfect option for the fall into winter in Florida. This seems to be the season I always need a wrap going into dinner or other public places. This pattern could be made casual or dressy and seems really easy to wear. Makes me excited to get back to the machine.
Thanks for stirring the creative juices again.

  48. Love the sleeves and drape on Designer Joi’s 7245 View A! Can look like a fancy blouse and skirt but everything can stay neatly in place because it’s a dress! A beautiful beaded belt would complete the look!

  49. I love, love, love this pattern. It reminds me of a similar coat my mother wore when I was just a young child. She was a very elegant woman and always dressed with such style and grace. I’m now in late middle age and would like to recreate this coat in the same beautiful shade of red.

    1. I forgot to mention the pattern is McCalls 7259.

  50. love the m7242…..I love the blouson bodice and the sleeve yaaay. will love to sew that u have got the purrfet material for that

  51. I’d like to win M7248 because I need to sew some more tops for work!

  52. 7261 cutest workout outfit I’ve seen especially the Hoodie view and leggings !

  53. I want to make 7246! I am the mom of two teenage girls and now work part time in a casual work place. I think boho dresses like this pattern bridge my working and running around life. Plus a long flowly dress can be worn in summer with sandles and fall and winter with boots, sweaters, and wraps. Its perfect, not too dressy and a nice change from jeans. I have add a few great challis to my stash to this end. I am a larger busted mom and love the figure shaping the v-neck and wrap dress will give me.

  54. Love M7426!!! Throwback to me teen years in the 70’s!!!

  55. M7260 is an entire wardrobe without back zippers or buttons. Since my shoulder injury I have to wear clothes I can pull over my head and this is a whole, stylish wardrobe. I want!

  56. I love 7242 but 7251 runs a close second! I love this collection and Ericka Bunker is so very inspiring.

  57. It’s hard to make a choice, but I would love to make M7243!

  58. I just discovered this blog. This is a wonderful blog! Keep it up–informative, well-written and illustrated, up-to-date and fun. Kudos to all involved I’ll keep reading.

  59. The new dresses are fabulous! But I’m going to choose M7258 as it fits my shape and can be made in lots of fabrics and prints and colours for work outfits! I can always find patterns for my size and figure at McCalls and I’m grateful as plus size clothing is expensive to buy.

  60. I would love to have 7251, but am also going to need 7248! I have fabric coming today that will work with either one.

  61. Greetings! I would like M7245 I was so impressed with the bodice I didn’t even realize it was a dress!! Oh and as a guest pinner I would suggest Mahogany Stylist, she has an excellent blog and has always produce stylish work 🙂

  62. I’m especially drawn to the cardigans and vests of M7254. They look so comfy and warm, and perfectly suits my style. I’d love to make several of these for the upcoming Fall/Winter season!

  63. I would love M7262. It is the perfect sweater/coverup for a California autumn season.

  64. My favorite is M7242 – it my fashion style. I love anything that makes me look long and lean. I sew because it assures me that I will never seeing anyone wearing the same clothes 🙂

  65. I really enjoy following you guys. You’re doing great work in all areas of your social media. Ultimately, you’re reaching out and connecting with us person to person. It’s a beautiful thing and I look forward to what you have to say each time.

I adore Rachel and am thoroughly enjoying the #sewphotohop. It’s such a lovely way to share more about my sewing life and connect deeply with others in the sewing community. I feel like I’m getting to know people that I’ve admired and some new friends in a whole new way. I’m on instagram as @gyldenege. I like that Anne Klein jacket. I just may need to join the sew along.

If I hadn’t already invested in them, I would say that M7261 and M7026 are top of my list. I’ve been waiting for this style of jacket. I have some RTW Lucy & Nike pieces in my closet that need replacing and some powerstretch fleece waiting in my stash. The other piece I find intriguing is M7205. It’s versatile enough for activewear, salsa dancing, or work. Plus, with princess seams and a waist seam, it can accommodate sway back and all the other bust, small shoulders, back fitting needs I have. Often if a pattern is “straight” or without much darting or seaming, I find that the best fit for my body (after I pinch out on my papertape double), ends up as a shoulder down or even armhole down princess seam.

  66. I really like M7240. It’s a dress that I would wear often. I love the tasteful simplicity of it. I also really, really love M7256, but I fear I may be too old to carry it off. It might make a great gift for my daughter though. : )

  67. I would love to win M7242. I think it’s flowing lines will be very complimentary to my figure. In other words it may help me look tall and thin.

  68. I pinned the skirt pattern M7253 the first time I looked at the new collection. I like the shape of this skirt.

  69. I think that I must have M7234. That little dress/jumper pattern is made for my granddaughter.

  70. None. In my opinion, the patterns displayed are not very stylish and the choice of fabrics rather horrendous.

  71. I am just starting to learn how to sew. I have always been crazy about vests so # M7254 would be an awesome 1st try at a vest!

  72. M7244. My daughter plays for a symphony and she has been wanting a new dress for performances. It’s so hard to find a decent black dress that meets the requirements of the symphony, yet is modern enough for my daughter’s taste. I think this one will do nicely, and looks relatively easy to make. Tracy Reese is awesome! Win, Win, Win!

  73. Pattern 7242 is my favorite. Love the vintage 70’s vibe. Based on a quick glance of other commenters favorites, this one looks like a big winner!

  74. I love Trace Reese dress M7244. I know a fabric from Marcy Tilton will be just perfect with this dress.

  75. perfect Pinafore dress with jumper or blouse underneath, or a perfect semi fitted shift dress

  76. I voe for the Misses/Women Sweater /Coat Vest pattern which is perfect for those days that are mild or when you want a cover up that is light but keeps you warm. A very versatile pattern.

  77. I love the Laura Ashley 7242. Never thought I’d love anything Laura Ashley again after high school…but you’ve convinced me. This dress is just my style. And so many ways to change it up!

  78. The new McCall’s pattern 7254 looks like a great addition to wardrobe building. Both views, long sleeved sweater/jacket and vest are versatile pieces that would easily transition from work to casual wear. I’d love to add this pattern to my fall sewing plans.

  79. Love Vogue and would like V1467 Misses

  80. Definitely the M7242! I made M6696 several times now and this would be a great follow-up shirt dress!

  81. And thanks to autocorrect someone else’s blog was linked to my name 🙂 sorry!

  82. M7251 Tracy Reese Plenty catches my eye.
I love making shirts – they are my primary wardrobe staple. I can see a lot of possibilities for this pattern and both versions look great!

  83. I love 7263!!

  84. Too hard to select just one when there are so many great patterns to choose from! 7242,7246,7244, 7240, 7259, 7254–love them all because they are classics that, depending on what fabrics are chosen, suit a variety of lifestyles.

If I had to choose one from the above, it would be the v-neck Tracey Reese “Plenty” dress pattern. 7244. Or the Cardigan. 7254. Or 7242- the Laura Ashley dress (sleeveless, shorter version). Want to sew them all.

  85. I love Designer Joi’s patterns. 7245 would be a great addition. 🙂

  86. M7251 i love this blouse, is so comfy and stylish…

  87. I would love to try 7243. I love the collar. Not sure how it would look on me, but I really love the style lines and will give it a try. I have several events this fall I could wear it to

  88. #7254 – like the styling

  89. I like M7248, such a versatile top that could be made up in many different fabrics.

  90. 7262 by Nancy Zieman. Looks like the perfect top for fall. I see it in any number of fabrics.

  91. I would choose M7240. I’m just getting comfortable with sewing knits, and this dress has the potential to become a favorite basic pattern. Love it!

  92. M7241! I like the style of this dropped-waist dress. Very cute!

  93. Can’t pick just one! I find 7245 and 7256 both very intriguing.

  94. M7242 LAURA ASHLEY! simply beautiful!!!! I can see myself making up this dress in many different prints & solids… 🙂

  95. M7262 I love as a fall wrap.

  96. I like the shirt pattern #7251. It is interesting and I think you could have lots of fun with fabrics. It is the perfect teacher shirt. 🙂

  97. 7242 by Laura Ashley- I would have bought it already but it doesn’t ship outside U.s. I have the perfect liberty fabric

  98. McCalls 7242 is super cute, and I love the Tracy Reese dress too. The vintage coat with the matching cape is cool too — it’s a great collection. Kudos to you.

  99. M7246, hand down.

  100. Great collection of Fall 2015 patterns! Since the poncho look is such a HOT trend now, my pick is # 7262. There’s so many looks that can be made with a wide array of fabrics from just this pattern alone! My second runner up is # 7254 for a jacket, shrug or vest. Both patterns will provide the main pieces for my Fall core wardrobe! Thank you for the beautiful and inspiring designs.

  101. I have fallen hard for M7250, I don’t usually do vintage but this has such a modern feel. Lots of fabric shopping for me in September!

  102. I love M7240 – an easy to sew and easy to wear knit dress!

  103. I like M7242. Here in sunny Florida I’m always looking for simple cool dresses to beat the heat. I especially like the V-neck detail.

  104. I like the look of M7251. I am quite new to garment sewing and have not attempted any shirts with collars as yet. This pattern is marked as easy and I like the fact there is also a collarless version if I don’t feel up for the challenge! Love the length, looks perfect for wearing with jeans or leggings and boots come winter time.

  105. I love pattern 7260. It would be lovely for our Australian Spring & with a change of fabric, I could use it for Summer too.

  106. I like M7249 as a nice variation (upside down?) on a crossover top .

  107. M7244 definitely. It looks like a great winter staple. Would colour block it.

  108. Wow! I like the choices. The patterns are flattering and look doable. I would pick M 7233 to make matching dresses for my granddaughter and her American Girl Doll. The pattern options would allow for holiday dresses. For myself, I would choose M7244, a swishy, fun knit dress to celebrate how fit I feel at 60 now that I am a yoga fanatic! Thanks for the inspiration.

  109. Love the Nancy Zieman top m7252 with the right fabric you could achieve great results. Thanks.

  110. A great collection, but M7267 is so sweet and retro — even dolls need to be stylish, too!

  111. My favorite pattern is M7244. This dress will help show off the 120 pounds I have already lost, and will encourage me to keep it off. The incredible fabrics that are out, this dress will be perfect to wear to my 43rd wedding anniversary next month. He can’t believe that his wife is back to her bridal size!

  112. V1467 would be great. The sober timeless look is great for winter. Thanks.

  113. I will like to win M7261 to make fun work out clothes

  114. I love M7261. This will make some awesome winter running gear.

  115. I can’t find a place to put my e mail to download the coloring book!

  116. I have recently gotten back into sewing garments and am having a ball with it! When I saw M7247 in Misses’ Tops, I knew this would be one I’d love to make for myself. I am a teacher and it would be so comfortable in a lightweight knit. The choice of hemline makes it even more interesting! It can be dressy for parent teacher conferences or casual enough for a Friday work day. Perfect!

  117. I’d love to win M7245. I love the retro look and the simple elegance. This would be a perfect dress to wear to work or church.

  118. There are so many great patterns in the new release, but my absolute favorite is The Archive Collection M7259. I love, love, love it. The style is great, it looks as though it would be comfortable, easy to make and versatile.

  119. Love those three pieces in pattern M7260. What a great basis for a new wardrobe!

  120. This is tough! After some thought am settling on McCalls 7186 dress. Love the flattering design lines.

    1. Congratulations, Pamela! You are our random winner. Please send an email with pattern number and size to Thanks!

  121. I would love to win 7244. I understand this to be a knit dress with a facing and tricot lining, which I would really like to try. It looks like it would be a cleaner finish around the neckline. Plus the dress has really great lines and would be flattering.
Thanks for the opportunity to win.

  122. I can see myself wearing one or another of the 7247 views on a regular basis. Fingers crossed!

  123. I would love to win a copy of M7246 – I have a giant black hole in my pattern collection for a great wrap dress and this looks perfect!

  124. I’d love M7256. That coat is elegant and eye-catching, and would be great for a Sydney winter. I also want to challenge myself with making more difficult coats and jackets, and that one would be perfect.

  125. M7251 – it just seems to be the perfect weekend blouse for Fall.

  126. M7243 – No contest! What a super design, and it fits in all the right places. As a dress or a top, I could see me making several for the winter season. Maybe shortening the sleeves for a transitional outfit.

  127. I would love to make 7244. It is the perfect dress for going to work on those crisp fall days!

  128. M7247 looks amazing!

  129. Definitely M7262, perfect sweater coat/poncho for transitioning into fall!

  130. I really live M7242. It’s perfect for fall!

  131. I would really like to win 7240. It is so versatile with the different neck and lengths. I think this was one of your BEST releases. Even if I don’t win it, I still plan to purchase it. Good luck everyone.

  132. #7242 is my favorite!!!

It favors all shapes and sizes and it has a tinge of sexiness. I can wear it for a day or evening event.
    Love it!!

  133. Hands down Imlove Mc.calls 7242. I takes the concept of the classic shirt dress and spins it into a beautiful dress with a modern neckline and a sexy split. Can’t wait to make this one.

  134. M7261 love exercise clothes!

  135. I’d really like to win the M7256 because this stylish coat would be perfect for the fall season!

  136. I would choose M7245 the Joi dress because it is beautiful and unique! Love the design.

  137. I would like to make M7265 Whistlepig Creek project totes to keep all my art quilting supplies together. Then I would be ready to take the with my on my artist plat dates.

  138. M7263 is one I would pick (though it was difficult to choose just 1). There are so many options with this one, though.

  139. I love 7270! I’ve been looking for an awesome costume to wear for Halloween this year and I’ve found it!

  140. m7261… Spend half my life at the gym but have never made a garment to wear there

  141. It’s definitely M7242 in E5 for me, such a classic style for fun, flirty, feminine, casual or dressy settings.

  142. I would like M7243. It’s for my daughter who is starting a new leg up on her career. I would like to create a new wardrobe for her and have it ready by her birthday in November. She is so beautiful and has worked hard to get where she is at. She deserves it. I love this collection especially the coats and can’t wait to get started with your new project!

  143. Love 7242 dress pattern I would love to make more than one of these dresses

  144. I want to be the queen of hearts for Halloween and M7271 fits the bill. Just imagine it in various shades and textures of red. Stunning!

  145. M7252 looks exactly like the kind of comfortable tops I need to make a dozen of. After adopting a four year old at the age of fifty-four, I need simple, comfortable clothes to keep up with an active little boy. They would be great for fall ball games here in the South. I already have some great stripes in the stash that would be perfect for the pattern, too!

  146. M7244 Is a beautiful pattern! I would love to experiment with different fabric options for this piece, possibly a cotton twill or poplin? Due to the patterns tailored look, the dress can really be created to look amazing on anyone! This is the perfect versatile dress form every occasion and season! I am a fashions student aid at my high school as well an independent seamstress at home, and love to show other students who have less experience with fashion construction and design that you don’t always have to exactly follow the pattern: sewing is all about being you and creating something totally new! Hope to win this pattern!

  147. M7242 is just the dress that I have been looking for in the shops and am unable to find in my size. I love the style of this one and see it in a wool crepe with a retro paisley print in dark Autumn tones. Great new patterns.

  148. Love m7241 great pinafore look

  149. I like M7258 because it’s so versatile.

  150. After reviewing all the patterns, I happen to view M7241. I love the versatility of the outfit which varies depending how you want to make it. A definite win in my book.

    Thank you.

  151. M7242 (Laura Ashley) without a doubt is just stunning! I would love to get my mitts on that one.

  152. May I second Cenetta of Mahogany Stylist as a guest pinner!

  153. M7248 looks like a shirt I’d wear all the time!

  154. I love M7244. It’s a beautiful dress and I think it is simple enough that even a beginner like me will be able to finish it.

  155. M7244 for me. I’ve been wanting a LDB that’s actually secret pajamas and this will be perfect.

  156. Would love m7199 sweat jacket just right to wear with jeans as the weather turns colder

  157. I love M7250. it’s the perect 1920’s style top.

  158. I would be happy to win Laura ashley’s M7233 Children’s/Girls’/18″ Dolls’ Dresses pattern for my two little daughters! They are little fashion victims already 🙂
Thank you so much for a present and this opportunity and good luck to everyone!

  159. So many lovely patterns – however I love the style and look of the M7246. It would be a great addition to any dress-based wardrobe!!

  160. M7241. Looks like a cute but not too ‘young’ style.

  161. I can’t go past 7254. It has really nice style lines and is a great addition to any wardrobe and with the right fabric choice it can transition to any season. It’s definitely an item that is non-existent in my current wardrobe and would love to make it.

  162. M7247 I love the tulip shape!
