Enter Our Giveaway to Win 100+ Yards of New Fabric

Enter our giveaway to win more than 100 yards of new fabric!

Does the idea of winning over 100 yards of brand-new fabric sound appealing? Then you’ll definitely want to enter “Gertie’s Grand Giveaway,” sponsored by the McCall Pattern Company with fabric provided by Fabric Traditions

Here’s how: Have you made any of Butterick’s Patterns by Gertie? Because to enter the contest, all you need to do is send in a photo of your finished garment. Our judges will select first, second and third prize winners, which will be announced in February at the Sewing and Stitchery Expo. The winning garment will be displayed in the McCall Pattern Company booth there.

If you want to make up a garment specially for the contest, there’s still time! Submissions are due January 31st. All the rules and details are right here. For more info on all the beautiful fabric the winner will receive, check out Gertie’s blog post.

I personally have seen many stunning versions of Gertie’s patterns out there. So I’m going to be really, really annoyed with you if you don’t take five minutes to send us photos of your Gertie make. Because you always need more fabric, right?!

We’ve been sewing since 1863.

  1. I have spandex-polyester fabric that I bought to match a sleeveless jacket to go with dress pants. I bought an extra 4 yards and haven’t made a thing with it.
Does anybody have any ideas as what to do with it? It is very-very stretchy but the softest and such beautiful fabric.
Also I would like to make a dress and jacket-well basically a suit-anybody have any ideas of a good pattern-not to go with the fabric above. What kind of fabric is best to make a suit. There are so many different fabrics that I can’t tell how they are going to lay or fit when on. Any suggestions on either questions would be much appreciated.

    1. I would definitely make a dress or a jumpsuit with it, something that shows off the beautiful draping quality.
